The Ramsey County Children’s Mental Health Collaborative has ONE open Co-Chair position on the Family Services Committee. We will be holding elections for this position during the September 2024 Family Services Committee Meeting. The Family Service Committee advises the RCCMHC Governing Board on services, policies, procedures, and systems-building practices that affect youth and families. The Committee provides a youth/caregiver perspective on effective mental health services that are strength-based, trauma-informed, and family-centered.

Responsibilities and Expectations of FSC Co-Chairs

The Family Services Committee Co-Chairs represent their committee to the Governing Board. This means that Committee Chairs should not only share their personal knowledge or experience but should also share the stories and experiences of their committee members.  In order to do this, Committee Chairs must regularly attend AND actively participate in Board, Committee, and Task Group meetings. 

If you become the new Co-Chair, you will...

• Ask questions and listen to other board, committee, and task group members

• Discuss topics with the FSC committee before holding votes or discussions at the Governing Board whenever possible

• Meet with the Executive Director and/or the Family and Community Engagement Coordinator monthly to plan an agenda for the monthly Family Services Committee meeting

• Assist with note taking and tracking attendance at Family Services Committee meetings

• Report important decisions / discussions of the Governing Board, other committees and/or task groups to other members of the Family Services Committee.

Compensation

• $50 Family Services Committee; 3rd Wednesdays 10:30 to 12:00
• $50 Planning Agenda for Family Services Committee; one week before FSC
• $50 Governing Board; 4th Fridays 9:00 to 11:00; 6 per year
• $20-50 for other committees or task groups

One week before the election, we will send information from this section to the parents and caregivers in the collab. They will use it to learn more about you and why you would make a great co-chair. You will also have a chance to talk to families during our September Family Services Committee meeting. Then, we will send a survey link and people will vote on their phones.
